KIDS ON A MISSION

Children ages kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to our December “Kids on a Mission” project. Please assemble in the library (Rm. 116) from 2-4pm on Sunday, December 1.  From there we will travel to the homes of some of our seniors for Christmas caroling and smoke detector battery replacement.

MISSION PROJECT

CHRISTMAS CARD MINISTRY

Our Senior Support team is sponsoring a Christmas Card Drive. To participate, purchase or make 31 Christmas cards, write a personal note inside, and sign your name—indicating that you are a friend from church. Put them in unsealed envelopes (not required for handmade cards), put a rubber band around them, and leave them in the green plastic bin on the table between Chris’s (Rm. 111) and Susan’s (Rm.113) offices. We will provide a list of recipients so that you may put the name of the recipient on the envelope and personalize your message. A member of the Senior Support Team will deliver cards in person to those who are local, and the church will mail cards to those living elsewhere. Please bring your cards by Friday, December 6. Contact Marsha Jones (336-263-9643) or Susan Brink (336-226-4343) for more

information.

Serving others

Missions Ministry

Connecting with Christ by serving others is an important part of the life at FUMC Graham.

If you are interested learning more or participating in any of our ongoing Mission projects / ministries contact

Chris Fulkerson and he will connect you with the volunteer co-ordinator.

  • Academic Aid

Every year our church awards scholarships / loans to college students of all ages. The funds are generated by various groups in the church by fundraisers and memorials. Applications are accepted starting in March and are awarded in June. More information is available here.

  • Communion for Shut-ins

If you have a passion for reaching out to the elderly and infirm, you can join our volunteers who take communion to those who are unable to attend church and share it with them at their place of residence.

  • Exchange Club

The Exchange Club of Alamance holds classes for at-risk youth and their parents, as mandated by the court system.  Youth who have become involved with the court system and are at risk of more serious offenses, along with their parents, attend these classes. Our church provides light snacks along with the space for them to hold their sessions.

  • Lamplighters Ministry

Lamplighters are a group of handy folks who help out those in need of a little repair or maintenance around the house. They have done everything from raking leaves to building ramps for those who need a little help.

  • Library Ministry

One of our most active ministry teams works with our church library. This team keeps our library full of new and relevant books and materials for all age groups. Each year they have several programs to encourage young readers for both our Play School and our church children and their families. In addition, they serve regularly at South Graham Elementary School and work side by side with the school librarians there!

  • Little Free Pantry

Located on our front lawn, the little free pantry is spot to share or take needed food items for the community. The box was created by one of our Girl Scouts as a mission project.

  • Prayer Shawl Ministry

We are blessed with our crochet group and several other folks who use their talents to knit and/or crochet prayer shawls to give to those who are in special need of God's love, comfort, and compassion.

  • FUMC Graham Play school

We truly feel that providing a safe and nurturing place for children to grow and learn in a Christ- centered environment is a ministry. We have served our community for many years and our dedicated Play School staff are now teaching the children of our former students! Click here for details about FUMC Graham Play School.

  • Youth Mission trip

Every summer, the youth of our church and their adult counselors from our church participate in a week long mission trip to spend a week growing in fellowship and service. To pay for the expenses of this mission trip, they hold fundraisers throughout the year.
